Norma Hoyte

Trustee

Norma Hoyte is a founding member of PLIAS Resettlement and has played a key role in the organisation's strategic development and growth. With over 20 years of experience working in local government and across the voluntary and community sector, Norma has been dedicated to reducing inequalities and advocating for marginalised communities. Her work has focused on promoting inclusion and ensuring the representation of Black and minoritised communities in both voluntary and statutory sectors.

Norma has collaborated closely with a wide range of stakeholders, from government offices to community organisations, to address systemic inequalities and foster stronger partnerships. Her commitment to social justice extends to her involvement in Bedfordshire Opportunities for Adults with Learning Disabilities, where she has worked to improve support for individuals with learning disabilities and their families.

Holding a First-Class BA (Hons) Degree in Criminology, Norma was also awarded the Tony Rhodes Award for the best overall performance in Community Management at the University of Bedfordshire. With a career rooted in advocacy and service to the community, Norma continues to champion positive change and support those most in need.
