We are more than just a place—BOLD is a community where creativity, teamwork, and personal growth are celebrated daily. Whether you’re learning a new skill, making a positive impact on the environment, or simply having fun, every moment here counts.

Every Day at BOLD is Unique!

At BOLD, no two days are the same! We offer a dynamic range of engaging workshops and hands-on activities designed to inspire creativity, encourage physical activity, and build new skills.

From arts & crafts and music sessions to woodwork projects like upcycling and repurposing furniture (which we proudly sell in our shop), there’s always something exciting happening. Our on-site gardening projects bring people closer to nature, while our community initiatives make a real impact—whether it's planting trees at a local farm or creating bark pathways at a conservation site.

We also believe in the power of exploration. That’s why we plan off-site visits every week, giving people the opportunity to experience new environments, try different activities, and connect with the wider community.

Being Creative

Our creative service users have been busy designing some greetings cards that are personal to BOLD Every greeting card we sell is more than just a card—it's a symbol of empowerment. 100% of the proceeds go directly back into our charity, allowing us to continue providing opportunities for individuals like………. Transforming Our Space: A Year of Progress at BOLD

Over the past 16 months, we've dedicated ourselves to making significant improvements to our site. Our mission has been to enhance both safety and the overall experience for everyone who comes to BOLD, ensuring that our space not only meets practical needs but is also a place of pride for all.

Here’s a look at some of the exciting projects we’ve completed:

1. A New Car Park for Staff and Minibuses

The very first project we embarked on was the development of the lower end of the site into a dedicated car park. This wasn’t just about providing a safe space for our staff cars and minibuses but also about ensuring that the area outside our portacabins was free from obstructions. With a clearer and more open space, we’ve made it easier for everyone to move around and work in a safe, organized environment.

2. Clearing Old Structures and Making Way for New Opportunities

Next, we turned our attention to clearing some outdated structures, including an old bus that no longer served a purpose. By removing these, we unlocked valuable space, allowing us to extend our activity area. In September 2024, we were thrilled to bring in two new portacabins, expanding our services and further enhancing the site’s functionality.

3. A Beautiful Transformation of the Tearoom Garden

Thanks to the incredible support from the Rotary Club of Bedford, our tearoom garden underwent a stunning transformation in the summer of 2024. Volunteers worked hard to repair and paint the fences and gate, level the lawn, and plant new borders. The result is a beautifully refreshed space that we are proud to share with everyone who visits.

4. Decluttering and Revitalizing the Site

Throughout the year, staff and service users devoted countless hours to clearing out unwanted rubbish from the site. After several skips later, the difference is clear. The site is now visually pleasing, with more open and accessible areas that make it an even more inviting place to be.

5. Resurfacing Works: A Major Improvement

In the final quarter of 2024, we began planning the resurfacing of the site and car park. With generous funding from the Connolly Foundation, we were able to complete the works by the end of January 2025. The result is a smoother, safer surface that will serve us well for years to come.

6. Allotment Area Revitalization: A Space to Grow

The last major project was another collaboration with the Rotary Club of Bedford, who generously donated their time and skills to build raised planters in our allotment area. Over several days, volunteers worked tirelessly to transform this space, and we’re now ready to start planting and growing!

A Fresh Look and a Bright Future

The changes we've made to our site have truly transformed the space, creating a safer, more functional, and beautiful environment for everyone. But don’t think we’re done yet – there’s still more to come! Stay tuned as we continue to improve and grow, making BOLD an even better place to work, learn, and thrive.
